Supported by David Harrison and held at Harrisons Cafe
Thursday 21st May 7pm
As part of the Strangford Lough’s Townlands & Gateways project we have organised a ‘Gathering’, an informal get together for people to share stories and knowledge about their area. It’s a chance for you to exchange stories and knowledge about your local history, the old crafts, the farming traditions, the music and the characters that make your townlands special. It’s also an opportunity to keep the oral story traditions of your area alive in a relaxed and fun environment and to give the community a chance to discuss and identify the issues that you face in a modern and changing world.
We would encourage people to bring books, maps, photos and anything else they would like to share. As part of this project we will be producing a booklet including your area so your information will contribute to a publication that will be made available to local people. So come along and have a chat and a cup of tea with your neighbours!
The SLLP have also provided refreshments, sandwiches and tray bakes for the evening.
